Company Culture

Great people. Great results.

What makes SAFCO a great place to work is our people. Simple as that. There are many sub-prime auto lenders, but only one SAFCO because of the quality and dedication of our team. The hard work and resourcefulness of our team members have driven our success in a highly competitive, fast-paced industry for more than three decades. Our team is what sets us apart from the competition and defines who we are – a growing company where success is recognized and rewarded, diversity and inclusion are valued, personal and professional growth is supported, and helping our neighbors is second nature.

Diversity Makes Us Stronger

Since our founding, SAFCO has been a champion of diversity and inclusion. Thoughtful personnel practices lie at the very heart of our business philosophy. As a result, diversity has become an important part of our company culture. We’re proud of the positive and inclusive work environment that we’ve created. It’s built on gender and diversity equity and fosters these four tenets:

  • Respectful communication and cooperation between all team members.
  • Teamwork and team member participation, permitting the representation of all groups and perspectives.
  • Work/life balance through flexible work schedules to accommodate the various needs of team members.
  • Contributions to the communities we serve to promote a greater understanding and respect for diversity.

Ultimately, we embrace and celebrate our many differences, because we know that diverse viewpoints help us create better solutions for our dealer partners and customers. The one thing we all have in common is our drive to help SAFCO, and each other, be successful.

Giving Back to Our Communities

We take corporate citizenship very seriously. Lucky for us, it’s a lot of fun. We love supporting local charities and causes that do so much good for the people we serve and the communities we call home. Here are some of the great organizations we happily share our time and talents with:

Habitat for Humanity
The Habitat for Humanity vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Their mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

HandsOn Broward
HandsOn Broward inspires, equips and mobilizes people to take action to positively effect change in Broward County.

Harbor House of Central Florida
Harbor House seeks to eliminate domestic violence in Central Florida by providing safety, shelter, empowerment, education and justice.

Covenant House
In 1980’s Fort Lauderdale, the lure of sun and sand drew a growing number of homeless and runaway youth who were migrating to the beach area. These disadvantaged teens fell into crime and drug abuse, leading to a poor future. At the request of two local judges, a group of concerned citizens raised money to turn the sleepy Sand Castle Motel into a safe space for these children. Later opening a location in Orlando, Florida, Covenant House Florida serves runaway, homeless, at risk-youth. Each year, the agency reaches hundreds of kids in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando via street outreach, crisis shelters, transitional housing projects, and aftercare.

Ronald McDonald House
RMHC is the catalyst to create a world where children have access to quality health care and their families are able to better comfort and support them while actively participating in their care.

Mercedes Benz Corporate Run
The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run Series is an institution in South Florida and is one of the largest 5K races in the nation. The purpose of the Corporate Run Series is to promote running and walking as a means to a fit, healthy lifestyle for people from all walks of corporate life, along with supporting its corporate charity partner.

Kids In Distress Inlet Challenge
The KID Fitness Challenge gives participants the option to choose their challenge! Ride or spin to strengthen families and prevent child abuse by raising awareness and much-needed funds. 100% of participant dollars raised directly benefit the 11,000+ children and families that KID serves every year.

Abandoned Pet Rescue
Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that rescues and shelters abandoned and abused dogs and cats with the goal of finding them new homes. APR is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida. Over the past decade, APR has provided comprehensive care for 6,800 dogs and cats that have come through the shelter as well as for community cats that have been trapped, neutered, vaccinated and released.
