March 26, 2022. To support its DEI initiatives, SAFCO has developed a supportive culture that values the diversity of its team members. This month, the company’s headquarters teamed up with its Loan Servicing Department in Barranquilla, Colombia to host a company-wide carnival celebration to highlight the culture there. Held each March, Barranquilla’s carnival is the biggest celebration of Colombian folklore and one of the world’s largest carnivals.
The all-volunteer SAFCO Cares Team went all out to give the company’s stateside employees the true feel of a carnival. They decorated SAFCO’s entire headquarters with flower garlands, balloons, and banners, elected a King and Queen, brought in authentic food, and even led a parade throughout the office. Best of all, the office established a two-way audio/visual linkup via overhead screens with our Barranquilla office so the teams on both sides of the ocean could celebrate the festivities as one.
