September 14, 2022. The SAFCO team recently participated in a community outreach event, in partnership with HandsOn Broward, at Village Elementary School in Sunrise, Florida. By leveraging the power of our team and the creativity of HandsOn, we worked together to help transform a community school through meaningful hands-on service projects.
Village Elementary School, a Title I school, serves 550 students in the eastern part of the city. Approximately 25 volunteers from SAFCO arrived at the school for each day of the project, ready to complete all of the improvement activities planned for facility. The event was kicked off by school principal Wanda Haynes and HandsOn Broward CEO Dale Hirsch. Sunrise Deputy Mayor Jacqueline Guzman even stopped by to survey the progress.
SAFCO volunteers completed various beautification projects around the school to help boost student morale and create school pride, enhancing the students’ learning experience.
